West Coast Flyin LAX-SFO

Date: Saturday May 3rd 2008

Time: 2300z-0200z (7-10pm East Coast, 4-7pm Pacific)

WestWind is taking this opportunity to have a long-needed flyin on our West Coast. Air Traffic Control will be online at the times specified in both LAX and SLC. Enroute ATC is also available during the flight. You are greatly encouraged and welcomed to fly a return leg or a continued leg to another airport if you wish.

Any RJ or 737 series would be the best for the flight, but you can fly in any aircraft that you want, as long as your rated in it.

Denver ARTCC's Rocky Mountain Rumble Live! 2008

The Denver ARTCC's annual event "Rocky Mountain Rumble" is back. This time the members of the ARTCC will gather together in Denver, Colorado, to control side by side and provide the best air traffic control services on VATSIM! What does this mean to you, the pilot? You can expect 10 full hours of quality ATC service, realistic approaches and departures to and from Denver International, Aspen and Colorado Springs. Leaders of the aviation community, both real world and virtual, have come together to support vZDV and promote the event. Names such as Jeppesen, Mega scenery, HiFi Sim and PMDG. Pilots that fly-in have a chance to win one of the following prizes: Two (2) Jeppesen SIMCharts One (1) Product from HiFi Simulations One (1) Product from MegaScenery One (1) Download of PMDG's MD-11 when released Here at ZDV you are not just another pilot in the crowd...no...we guarantee you will feel welcome and at home in our ARTCC, and be treated with respect while we do our best to accommodate any special requests you might have. WestWind London Heathrow Fly-In

WestWind captains are invited to participate in a London Heathrow (EGLL) fly-in. Use any of WestWind's scheduled passenger or cargo flights into or out of EGLL during this event.

Date: May 12

Time: 17:00 Zulu to 23:00 Zulu

In conjunction with this event, WestWind captains are also invited to participate in a transatlantic group flight, either from one of the WestWind North American hubs to EGLL or from EGLL to one of the North American hubs.

The suggested departure window from EGLL for westbound transatlantic flights is 17:00 Zulu to 18:00 Zulu.

The suggested arrival window at EGLL for eastbound transatlantic flights is 22:00 Zulu to 23:00 Zulu.

West Wind Realistic Hub Dallas-Fort Worth Fly-in

Time: Per the flight schedule

At the invitation of the VATUSA Fort Worth ARTCC, we have scheduled an event at our DFW hub, and based on the results of the poll in the forums, this will be another realistic hub scenario.

Instructions:

1. Go to the Event Flight Schedule Page and select a flight. You may select a flight to DFW or a flight from DFW or one of each. Please do not select more than one inbound flight, nor more than one outbound flight.

2. If you select an inbound flight, please plan your flight well in advance. For your particular aircraft type, you may need to adjust your departure time in order to arrive on time. The arrival time is intended to be the time you arrive at the gate, and it is recommended that you allow for 5 minutes’ taxi time after landing in order to arrive on time.

3. If you select an outbound flight, the departure time on the schedule is your push-back time. It is recommended you log in at least 5 minutes before your departure time in order to get your clearance before pushing back.

4. Each flight is a scheduled passenger flight and should be flown using an aircraft from West Wind’s passenger fleet.

The VATUSA Atlanta ARTCC is hosting Friday Night Ops on this date, and we’re taking this opportunity to conduct a realistic hub operation fly-in at KATL.

Instructions:

1. Go to the Hub Ops Schedule Page and select a flight. You may select a flight to Atlanta or a flight from Atlanta or one of each. Please do not select more than one inbound flight, nor more than one outbound flight.

2. If you select an inbound flight, please plan your flight well in advance. For your particular aircraft type, you may need to adjust your departure time in order to arrive on time. The arrival time is intended to be the time you arrive at the gate, and it is recommended that you allow for 5 minutes’ taxi time after landing in order to arrive on time.

West Wind Denver Cargo Fly-in

Date: February 23, 2007

Time: 01:00Z – 03:00Z (See instructions below.)

The VATUSA Denver ARTCC is hosting Friday Night Ops on this date, and we’re taking this opportunity to host a cargo-only fly-in at KDEN, our largest cargo hub.

Instructions:

1. Go to the Cargo Operations Page and select a scheduled cargo flight or a cargo charter that is either inbound to or outbound from KDEN, or, if you want, select one inbound flight and an outbound flight.

2. If you select an inbound flight, please begin your flight in time to arrive at KDEN between 01:00 and 03:00 Zulu.

3. If you select an outbound flight, please begin your flight between 01:00 and 03:00 Zulu.

4. It is suggested that flights departing KDEN position themselves on the A2 cargo ramp before connecting to VATSIM. It is also suggested that arriving flights park at the SC cargo ramp.

ZHU - ZJX Battle of the Airlines II

Date: January 20th, 2007

Time: 2300Z-0300Z (5-9 central time)

Featured airports: KIAH, KHOU, KMCO, KJAX

Featured ARTCC’s: ZHU, ZJX

Description: Pilots of participating virtual airlines “battle” each other by flying to/departing from the featured airports (each departure/arrival receives one point). Whichever virtual airline departs/arrives at the featured airports the most, thus receiving the most points, wins.

Super Bowl Weekend Double Feature

This year the Super Bowl will be played in Miami on Sunday, February 4, 2007. West Wind captains are invited to fly in for, not one, but two events in the Miami area.

West Wind Super Bowl Fly-in

West Wind has a number of well-to-do customers wanting to charter flights to the Super Bowl. (This is Executive Charter # P015.) So we’re having an executive charter fly-in on Friday night!

From your hub city or other suitable location, fly a Boeing BBJ, Cessna Citation, Dassault Falcon, Gulfstream G550, or Learjet 45 to Miami (KMIA) and park at or near the Signature Aviation ramp.

We also have a number of customers at locations near Miami such as the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, Disney World, etc. So if you’re already in Miami that night, or after you’ve arrived in Miami in your jet, fly a Gazelle, King Air 350, Beech 58G, Bell 206B, Cessna 208B, DHC 3, or DHC 6 to pick up these local customers and bring them back to Miami, also.

South Florida, VATSIM Superbowl Championship

"The VATSIM Super Bowl Championship is one of the most-flown VATSIM events, attracting many Virtual Airlines and private pilots worldwide. The location of the Super Bowl is chosen by the NFL well in advance, usually 3 to 5 years before the game. Cities compete to host the game in a selection bidding process. On February 3rd from 23:30 to 0400 ZULU, it will be South Florida's turn, with hundreds of VATSIM pilots representing their Favorite NFL team flying to four different airports with full ATC as real as it can possibly get."
