    Hub Newsletter- December 2007

    Greetings Captains!

          Well here we are, one month closer to the end of the year, and another month older :) Westwind has been making some changes that you may have noticed. The most important and obvious is the aircraft rating system. So far the changes have only applied to the routes, and not the pilots. In place of the old Cat I, II, III, IV, and V, routes are now classified by the types of aircraft typically flying that route in the real world. The new types are as follows:

    TP=Turboprops
    RJ=Regional Jets
    NB=Narrow Bodies
    WB=Wide Bodies
    SWB=Super Wide Bodies

          We are currently in the process of verifying that our routes accurately reflect the new designations. If you notice one that does not fit, please let Darrel or myself know so we can fix it. (For instance, a former Cat I flight that is not suitable for RJ flights (too short runways for instance).

          The labeling of aircraft in the hangar has not changed as of this writing, but it is in the works, so please bear with us during these changes. As always, WWA pilots are free to fly any route using any suitable aircraft you wish. These are mainly a guideline and suggestions for those wanting more realism than others.

          The idea of changing the pilot rating system to more closely reflect real world ops and the new aircraft ratings has been brought up, but no changes are being made as of yet. If something should change, we will inform you of any changes.

    So on to this months numbers:

    191 flights for 398.3 hours
    156 of those flights were passenger flights
    10 were cargo flights
    22 were charters
    1 training flight

    The most popular route was KSEA-KGEG flown 7 times

    The most popular aircraft was the 737-800 flown 19 times

    This month, I flew the most flights with 34 (there were several very close to that)
    David Hawley (WWA1563) logged the most hours with 83.7  WOW!!!!!

    We had some promotions this month as well....

    As always, feel free to contact Darrel or myself if you have any questions or suggestions. We are here to help in any way possible to make Westwind and Seattle a great place to be. I would also like to challenge all of you to top this months numbers in December!! I can't wait to see if we can do it :)

    Until next time, I'll see you at the gates.....
