Hey all Sorry about my non activeness on the forums its been really snowballed under the homework im getting

 

Anyway im woundering whats it like being a VATSIM ATC i've been thinking about it for abit now

Hello:

If you are talking about being a controller on Vitsim, I think it would be quite an undertaking.  Lots to learn, and my hat goes out to them.  Being a pilot on VATSIM is very close to RW.  Every controller I know, is very helpful to new pilots.

I agree, Ed... my hats off to those guys!  I joined Washington ARTCC shortly after joining VATSIM (before getting a job here at WestWind) as I thought it would be neat to learn to control.  I actually thought it would be easy... NOT!  After looking at the materials you have to learn and the overall scope of what they have to know, I took a huge step back and concentrated my efforts on learning to properly fly on VATSIM first. (Procedures, verbiage, navigation, etc, etc.) 

Maybe one day I'll control, but for now I'm happy with just flying!

As a VATSIM ATC it takes concentration and a lot of work; reading and learning procedures etc and most of it is done in your own free time, but after your in it a while, it gets easier, its just the starting off thats hard...
