    DC8

I downloaded the DC-8 from the WWA fleet and it shows up on FS9 fine. I am trying to edit the .cfg file to give it an autothrottle, but the aircraft doesn't show up in the aircraft folder. I have tried twice to re-download it but that doesn't help. Any suggestions?

    Re: DC8

For the installation folder did you select \Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft?  If so, that is your problem. In that case, look for  \aircraft folder under the Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft folderEither copy the aircraft files to the \Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft folder, or reinstall, but this time do not select the \aircraft folder for installation.

    Re: DC8

I used the fs9 folder for download, not the aircraft folder.

    Re: DC8

I just downloaded and installed...no problems.  If it shows up when you run FS9, then it has to be there! The folder name is dc-8-71f.

I just looked and it still isn't there. This is really weird.

    Re: DC8

Try doing a file search for DC-8-71F_2k4.air

    Re: DC8

    Nothing

What I really don't get is why it is in FS9?

    Re: DC8

It has to be there somewhere or the airplane would not show up in the simulator.  When you did the file search did you select the all files and folders option (or some similar wording)?

By default windows explorer  only searches the current folder, for my system that is the Start Menu folder. You have to use one of the drop downs to select a different folder the entire C: drive.  As Kim said, if the aircraft shows up when you launch FS9, then the files are there, and they would have to be in the aircraft folder. I have loaded the DC8 and have no problems finding the files...in fact I have already modified the .cfg file and installed a different I/P. Made my first flight with it last night and found it to be a real nice aircraft. I'll be using it now for long haul cargo flights. I fly the 727 for short hauls.

    Re: DC8

Yeah, it is supposedly a nice aircraft (according to Mark) and I want to give it a shot.

I still cant finding, abd yes Kim I have that option checked. What is the folder name?

OK. I still can't find it. I think I'll just forget about it.

    Re: DC8

Why don't you try installing it to a Dummy location...some folder that you create and know it's exact location. Then, manually copy the folder/files to the FS9 aircraft folder. The installer will put it wherever you tell it to.
