Help to remove tyre smoke effect from Dash 8

    Hi All,

Of late, I have been having a little trouble with poor frame rates in both the WestWind Dash 8-300, and the Premier Aircraft Design Qantas Dash 8-311.  The problem seems to get worse during taxi when, occasionally I see - what appears to be - tyre smoke at low taxi speeds, accompanied by a short tyre screech sound, similar to the sights and sounds at touchdown. When the tyre smoke dissipates and I shift my view just slightly in the VC, the frame rates become smooth again.  I assuming that also might be the cause of my poor frame rates on approach to a major airport, but I could be wrong - YSSY is a good example in my case,

I have tried commenting out all the lines in the Effects section of the aircraft.cfg file in both the above aircraft with no success, so I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem in the past, and knows a solution. My jetliners, and most of the default aircraft do not suffer from the smoke problem during taxi, or the poor frame rates, so the settings that I have worked hard in refining, seem to be ok.

I look forward to seeing if someone has a solution to this problem, as I love flying the Dash 8.

    Cheers,

I would suggest the following. Don't know if it will work or not but it is all I can think of that might help. I have never heard of this before. The closest I have come to anything like you describe was weird behavior at altitude or on the ground at startup. The problem was ultimatlely isolated to a saved flight. Not sure why.

    • If you are flying a saved flight, delete the saved flight and reload the aircraft.
    • If that doesn't work, then remove the aircraft from your system and reload it.

Thanks for the info, Mike.  What I'm going to try is reducing my AI air traffic to 50%.  I was running it at 75% with a few real-world airlines from World of AI, installed.  As I type this, I'm in cruise on a return leg from Dubbo YSDU to Sydney YSSY.
