    Westwind in Europe

    Hi Guys,

Is there any planned expansion of Westwind in Europe?

    Thanks

I would like to see Europe grow. The history of our European hubs is that they have been hard to staff and hard to find pilots who want to be based there. That is changing now as we actually have people in Europe who want to be based out of Europe. As we find people to staff the hubs that are there and we have more pilots showing an interest in being based out of Europe, I can see expanding. The expansion will depend on where the interest lies. I am partial to Paris, but we had a Paris hub at one time and closed it because of lack of interest. I am open to ideas, but expansion will have to be preceeded by an obvious interest on behalf of European pilots.

Yeh, Paris was the first city that came into my mind as well. I can't see how it did'nt take off though. I think it would be great if Westwind had more international bases, especially in places like Europe and future aviation giants like China and India. Maybe, if we restricted the amount of pilots being accepted into the USA and tried push more pilots to Europe, that might work. Also if we started Paris off as a mini-hub and just kept an eye on the number of flights in and out of Paris, we will soon know if the intrest is there and maybe expand it further in the future. I'm sure nearly every Westwind hub in the world already flies to Paris, so maybe keep an eye on the numbers flying those routes also.

    Re: Westwind in Europe

The last time I looked, the number of flights to Paris was extremely small. People like to fly to these places, but they just don't want to be based there. We have plenty of routes to just about anywhere in the world. We just don't have hubs there and probably don't need them.

    Cheers
