    EDDF Real- Ops 08

On the 10th of May, 2008 it is as real as it gets at Frankfurt Airport for 6 hours, with up to 20 controllers and more than 400 bookable flights. VACC-SAG simulates Frankfurt's real-world traffic on a busy Saturday afternoon. Pilots are invited to visit the newly designed RealOps 2008 event page and enjoy the great introduction trailer to put you in the mood for this major VATSIM event! Booking is open, and all participants are requested to read the procedures provided on the website very carefully.

    In response to Mike's post,

If any pilots interested in flying this event have any questions relating to procedures/general questions about flying in Europe, please contact me via the forum or via my email. I am willing to answer any questions our pilots may have and I am also willing to fly with our pilots in Europe before this event to help them get a feel for flying in Europe.

    Hi everybody

I will join the event for sure, but it will be late when I log in, cause lots of work at the moment.

So hopefully we will see other pilots as well.

Good times to everyone, see u on Saturday

    Klaus,

Just a question, why would you be flying under a callsign other than WWA???  Do you fly for multiple VA's?

    Re: EDDF Real- Ops 08

Real Ops 08 is a similar setup to the VATUSA MITRE at ORD. The flight you sign out designates the plane, callsign, and times already preplanned for you to what they want..So this will be one not able to log as WestWind hours. If  I werent going to be out of town, I would definately be in it! Have fun guys!

    Re: EDDF Real- Ops 08

    Hi Phil

U have to fly with the callsign the flight is listed, so u cant log it as a WWA flight as Johnny already mentioned.Normaly I`m only flying for WWA and I`m not involved with another VA.

There are no WWA flights available at this event, so I just picked one which will suit my time.

So when u log in at fsinn or squawkbox, u have to log in with the flight callsign.

Are u joining as well? would be great to have some WWA pilots around.

The way I interpret the rules on logging flight time, as long as you're not logging the time for another VA, it shouldn't matter what callsign you use on VATSIM, you can still add the flight time to your WestWind hours, provided all other rules are met (e.g., flying an aircraft at or below your pilot category, etc.).  You may be posing as a Lufthansa flight for this particular event, but in spirit you're still flying for WestWind, right?

    Re: EDDF Real- Ops 08

I agree with your interpretation Mark.  Because this event requires you to use a different callsign, but you are still flying for WWA, I think it is definitely loggable time.

    hi Mark

I think u are right, sounds logic to me, cause u don`t fly actually for another VA.
