    On my way to EDDF!

    Hey All,

Just wanted to let you know I started my formal "Move" flight this afternoon. I took off from KBOS, and I'm heading to EDDF as we speak at an altitude of 35,000 with a ground speed of 500+. I should be there in a few hours. After I land, you'll all be receiving an email from me detailing some of the changes that will be occurring within the following 2 weeks, with more details to come later on. See you all soon!

Re: On my way to EDDF!

    Hello Klaus,

I have owned the Mega Airport Scenery for Frankfurt and for Vienna for quite some time, actually! I have (in the real world) spent a lot of time in Europe and have flown through these airports quite a few times.... they're a staple for me and I couldn't settle for the default sceneries after having spent so much time there. I also have sceneries for Stuttgart, Munich, Zurich, Koln, Nuremberg, and other cities within Germany and throughout Europe. Having said so, one of the reasons I took this job was to help pilots in Europe fly like pilots in Europe. Westwind is a US-based airline, but we have spent a lot of time focusing on the United States and not enough time focusing on Europe and Asia. I'm hoping to change all of that, and I look forward to questions, suggestions etc.

          --Ian

PS- I flew one of the new routes, EDDF-EVRA last night.... great flight, low clgs and vis in Riga. Made for a fun approach in!

Ian, I just want you to know that I support this direction whole heartedly. The European Division of WestWind needs to be European, not American. We need to recruit Europeans to staff it, to build it and to fly in it. We also need to recognize that much of Europe does not have English as their native tongue. Great ideas. I know Chris supports this fully as well. Let me know how I can help. Cheers.

Re: On my way to EDDF!

    Mike,

Thanks for the support! We're happy to announce some route changes in my other post in the forum with some expansion plans announced! As I type this, one of the possible future Asian routes is being tested, as I flew EVRA to ZBAA tonight (The flight would originate in EDDF, but I didnt have enough time to fly from there tonight, so I went to a closer place). I will be continuing my mini-asian tour before coming back to EDDF with some ideas and changes to the schedules. The European schedule is going to change and evolve as well, and I want to encourage everyone to take a look at us in a few months.... hopefully, you won't recognize us (in a good way) and will want to explore Europe!

Ian, that sounds good. One thought... consider a route to Mumbai with connections to that part of the world. Cheers.

Re: On my way to EDDF!

Hope you're enjoyed you're coffee Ian!

I finished the route of Zurich, i gotta say that that is a good one, a short hop between 2 main airport's..

Very nice one especially in the winter, the snow i so prrety at Frankfirt and all the way to Zurich coverd with white bright snow...

    But, a small question, why there are 4 route's to Zurich?  WWA7434,WWA7435, WWA7436 and WWA7437 ..

Anyway, i'll do another route at sunday.. Or WWA7442 to Riga or WWA7443 to Helsinki...   That will sign my visit here and i'll head-off to Tel-Aviv for a week or 2..     From there i'll go to Kuala-Lampur to visit Shams.

    All the best Yes

That's a very nice one, again that time at the season for europe is great!

    The snow covers almost everything!

Anyway, was great flying here, and when i'll come here to Amsterdam, you can count on me that i will have a visit around here..!

Re: On my way to EDDF!

    Hey Demitry,

I was pushing the Zurich quite heavily due to the fact EDDF and LSZH are both major financial centers. I have a lot of routes to Munich as well, especially since.... nah, I can't tell you why. That's a secret for the time being. Anyways, I'm glad you like the new routes! I'm trying to add some more here and do some other things as well as soon as I'm able. As for a long haul, I'm currently on my way back in from my tour of Asia, I've been flying for over 10 hours and still have 2 to go.... you can check it out at www.vataware.com   Thanks for flying with us!

Good desicion about the route to Zurich!

When you'll add some more routes i wil come flying there!

And again, i'm very impressed from you're airport down there, I flew there once or twice but with low scenery, and now when i have the best scenery FSX can have, i'm taxiing and saying wow!

And about the long haoul, just catched you crawling to you're bad! Big Smile   I sow you on vataware before i was going to sleep last night..

Have a nice flight, and see you when i'll get back to Europe!
