    Bangkok Airport ICAO Code

    Hey,

Realised that the ICAO code for Bangkok in our company routes is wrong. VTBS does not exist at all in FSX. The correct code is VTBD. Bangkok Intl. I know this because I'm currently climbing to FL400 in my 787-800 towards there. Can anyone change it?

VTBD is the old ICAO code for the old Don Mueang Airport which closed in 2006. The new one is Suvarnabhumi Airport which is VTBS. You'll have to update your scenery... I'd reccomend AVSIM.... Oh, and the service ceiling of the 737-800 is FL390. Wink

No, it's FL410 if not higher for all the 737NG airplanes (I hear SW and AA 737NG's out in the real world at FL410 all the time)......in the 727 it was FL420, but you pretty much had to be empty and have very little fuel to get all the way up there......

My bad, I was always under the impression that it was under FL400, as I've never seen one (on this side of the world) go above about FL380...

    Re: Bangkok Airport ICAO Code

No worries.  I did a little digging and it is indeed FL410 for the -600 thru the -900ER.  The -100 thru -500 have a service ceiling of FL370 (this is primarily due to better pressurization control in the newer airplanes, and the wing on the NG's was redesigned for optimum of .80 cruise (whereas the older 737's optimum cruise is around .73 to .75) and is slightly different aerodynamically and bigger than on the older airplanes).

This is a really good site for 737 stuff, the link will take you to the limitations page, but there is a ton of more useful stuff on this site:

Hey guys, You do know he said 787-800 which has a service sealing of flight level 430. At least thats what they predict.
