    B787-800

Kim, Eoin and I think we can come up with a working B787-300 for FSX based on new panels and the FS9 version of the plane. We will get it ready to go and test it. If you don't want to for any reason, let us know. Thanks.

This would give a great alternative to the Abacus payware 787 I'm sure.

    Re: B787-800

No copyright claims in the download. This is the same guy who made the G550 panel, Marco Spada, and he done a good job too. Model is the FS9 model.

    Flight: X68-X68

    Test Flight 1

    No Weather

    12:55Z-13:29Z

No problems with the panel whatsoever. Only thing missing in a Speed Brake warning light, I am thinking of making a few changes myself, to make it look more real. Here it is

I plan to mess around with the EICAS and PFD to make it look a bit more real, get rid of the gaps.

As for every test flight, I did however find 2 problems with the model:

    • Cockpit window mission in spot view. Really decreases the realistic look of the exterior. The Flight Deck from external view does not exist. All that appears is a few gaps where windows should be and a blue carpet
    • The wheels are slightly in the ground. It looks as if the tires are permanently flat.

Apart from that its a very, very good aircraft. A dream to fly and an exceptional model and panel. I think it is ok to release, but if you want to make it look more real, I'd sort out that cockpit issue.

    Re: B787-800

    Test Flight 2

    Flight: X68-KMSY

    Real World Weather

    1419Z-1652Z

Aircraft Operated 100%. Its a pity the cockpit is so bad, because she really is a beautiful plane, and it would be a waste to get rid of it because of a little problem like that.

    No Problems to report

Made a few little changes on the panel:

    • ECAMS, MFD and EFIS all made larger
    • EICAS deleted as its not nessecary on this panel

    Edited panel:

Also took a screenshot of her airbourne in the Olympic Livery

As you can see the cockpit is fairly messed up!

Test Flight 3 will probably be done this evening.

    Re: B787-800

    Hi Guys, quick update.

I've found a different model on flightsim.com and it is brilliant!! Its cockpit windows sadly are black, but apart from that its pretty amazing!! FSX model too. It had the default CRJ cockpit in it, but I've changed it to the panels which I tested above and it works 100%. No official test flights done yet, everything is off the record... We need it in WWA colours so anyway willing to repaint it? I'll get you some screenshots of it in Dreamliner colours this evening.

Looks like Eion used the version that I painted for the VATSIM Torch relay that WWA participated in sometime ago, it was made by Robert Versluys. I was very unhappy with the FDE at the time so this version carried a 767 FDE.

CamSim is a different developer and his site is here: http://pages.infinit.net/camsim/ags787

They are good simple models sort of Mike Stone like in their setup. He also has the A350 and the Cjets on his site that he developed.
