Travel [ap] Raoul steps down from EVP Charter Operations

Today, I step down from Executive Vice President of Charter Operations because of my health and to make family my complete priority. In June, I experienced symptoms of a heart attack, underwent an angioplasty, and now have stents in my heart arteries. I am in physical therapy to strengthen my heart.

I will continue to be an active WestWind pilot. I am now a Director of Charters - At Large so I may contribute charters from time to time.

If you are interested in the Vice President of Charter Operations position, I believe you should contact Steve Canham, CEO, WestWind Airlines.

General Vice President of Charter Operations duties:

       Remain in active pilot status

Communicate with upper management via management forums

Establish policies for and manage Charter Operations

Hire, communicate with, and dismiss Directors of Charters

Review monthly charters from Directors and pilots quickly

       Edit grammar and spelling errors

Communicate with the Director of Web Development (Mark Kuebeler)

Administratively post charters to the WWA website charter list quickly

Post “New Charter” information and recognize charter contributors in the

           Flight Operations Forum monthly

Monitor upper management forums and the Flight Operations Forum.

Respond to charter questions in the forums

Move charter questions in other forums to the Flight Operations Forum

Move questions unrelated to charters from the Flight Operations Forum

           to the appropriate forum

Acquire and post annual pilot charter hours and charter flight reports

Post announcements in the Flight Operations Forum to recognize top pilots

who flew the most charter flights and charter hours annually

Review and approve Pilot Recognition Charter Flight and Hour Awards

Post seasonal charter suggestions (e.g. football, NASCAR, skiing, etc.)

for pilots’ information in the Flight Operations Forum

Regularly review, update, and/or edit existing charters

       Other

After taking care of my priorities, I will respond to the new VP’s questions.

I will discontinue using “wwacharters” as my email address so the new VP may use it if he wishes.

I posted a Pilot Charter Flight Report for 2008 and a Pilot Charter Hours Report for 2008 to today.

    Congratulations pilots! See these announcements:

Thank you to all who served as Directors and to others who contributed charters.

Raoul, You have been a great contibuter to the Charter Devision of this Airline.

As everyone at WestWind says: "Family should come first". Also - if your health isn't all that good, then it isn't best to try and do more than you can do (Look after Family & do so much to this Airline)

Again, Thanks for all you've done to WestWind and it's a shame to have to see you go.

Hope to see you in the Skies!

Thank you, James. Working on charters has been fun. This major health problem almost killed me. I am on the road to recovery.

Best wishes to you to and thank you for all you do for WWA.

Re: Raoul steps down from EVP Charter Operations

Thank you Scott Jones and Scott Williams for the supportive messages.

WWA is a terrific VA.  I will continue as a pilot and write a few charters but will be much less involved overall.
