    Hey Glenn,

Sorry but you said the Yankees in your early post and then you posted that the Rays was your team. I'm a bit confused as who your team is the Yankees or the Rays ? I am a Jays fan an they beat the Cubs last night 3-2.

Yeah, I was bashing you for being a Yankees fan, and now it turns out you're a Rays fan? They're in the same division.. can you really be a big fan of two teams in the same division? I'm an Angels fan and a Braves fan, and besides the fact that they're playing each other right now, I can root for both because they play each other once every few years. That's weird.

The Rays are having a surprisingly good season though. Hope they can keep it up, because its a good story.

    Hey Bill,

Whats the score so far in the series? I've seemed to have missed it in the tribune!

Oh God, another insufferable Cubs fan.

::offers to be the next Steve Bartman:: It would be an honor to be the reason the Cubs don't win again! :)

I have many problems -- honesty with my feelings isn't one of them, lol.

Course, at this point, I have to shut up now. The Braves keep losing, and at least the Cubs are winning and are leading their division.

I'm a Red Sox fan (born in Boston).  Can not believe they lost to the Rays.  The series was really shaping up for the Sox too :\

Looks like the Rays and Phillies.  I'm siding with the Phillies this World Series.

    Go RAYS!!! Two reasons:

    A. The Phillies are in the Braves' division. I cannot, in good conscience, root for a division opponent, regardless of how badly they whooped my team's butt in the regular season.

    B. Phil is a Phillies fan, and every day, I wake up with one thought: What can I do to p--s off Phil Cohen today? Today, it's rooting for Tampa Bay.

Well Mitch sorry to ruin your day.  But we did it, the Philly Championship drought is over after 25 long years

    Re: MLB Fan Thread

Congrats to the Phils and their fans! I was able to watch all of the playoff over here in the Philippines via sat TV and I must say I think the best team did win the World Series. I was impressed on how the Phils shutdown both Pena and Longoria and likewise how the Rays done a good job shutting down Howard. Both teams were pretty even and it could have gone either way, I think the big difference was the defensive errors on the Rays part and a little bit better pitching for the Phils. It was an entertaining series and as a fan I wish it could have gotten back to Tampa! Congrats again to the Phils and their fans! btw...I am a life long Tiger fan and a fan of the Mariners for the past 12 years. As for the Tigers we get there it seems once every 20 years or so. As for the Mariners well they had their chances while Lou Pinella was their manager, since he left it has not been the same. Oh and the GM in Seattle during their success years? Pat Gillick! He is quite the GM! Later, Ed

28 if you limit it to world series titles but what's 3 years among friends? Wink

Seriously though, congrats to the Phillies for a great year, I would have liked to have seen the Red Sox and Phillies contest the series, but I can't have everything now can I?  The question now is, can they defend the title next year?  Something that is no easy feat.....

    Re: MLB Fan Thread

Notice I said the Philly Championship drought (Sixers won in 83).  Red Sox/Phillies would have been a Historic series but this one turned out pretty good.  The only thing that I did not agree with was even starting game 5 on Monday night when they knew that it was going to start raining around 10PM.  And stopping the game in the middle of an inning was by far one of the Commish's worst moves to date, right above that tied All STar game crap from 3 or 4 years ago.( I cannot belive that he rewrote the rulebook that night!! most games would have reverted to the end of the last complete inning which was the 5th and the phillies were up 2-1)  At least that is how Las Vegas paid out that night  the phillies won game 5 twice according to their books.

Anyway it is now time to focus on the Eagles, Flyers and oh yeah the Sixers!!

That is 2 Championships for Philly this year dont forget the SOUL won Arena Bowl this year!!!  We are on a roll
