    Hub Newsletter- Nov 2007

    Greetings Captains,

Yet another month goes by and it sure seems like this year is flying by. Amidst all the recent changes we have been working through, we also have some personnel changes. The Executive Commitee has restructured the Office of Hub Operations and we now have a new "fearless leader"---Bill McCoy. To top it all off, Bill has decided to make Seattle his first stop on his tour over his new domain :)

Which brings me to our newest news. Bill has proposed a group flight for us, to which Darrel and myself happily jumped all over. I have posted the preliminary details on the forum. Please read this and offer any changes you feel appropriate. We would really like to have you all attend if you can. This is a really great opportunity for those of you who haven't yet flown online to do so. Bill has offered any help he can give with setup or VATSIM in general, and I will do the same. Bill and I will both be on Teamspeak often to answer questions, or just chat. In case you aren't on TS, the info is on the website if you want to join us.

          On to monthly business:

Here are the stats for October 2007

115 Total flights for 245.1 hours
90 of which were passenger flights
    11 cargo flights
    2 training flights

The most popular route was KSEA-CYVR which was flown 7 times

The Boeing 737-800 was the most popular aircraft, flown 30 times

Once again, William Morris logged the most hours with 51.8 (do you ever sleep William???)

We had some promotions this month as well:
Kent Connolly (WWA710) was promoted to Cat III on 10/21/2007
David Hawley (WWA1563) was promoted to Cat IV on 10/21/2007
William Morris (WWA1915) was promoted to Cat IV on 10/29/2007
    Congratulations Gentlemen!!

Bill McCoy (our new fearless leader) was awarded the Pilot Recognition Award for 50 Hours in one month- Watch out William!!

The results are in from our latest Pilot Survey. A link to the results are on the home page of the website if you would like to see the results.

I think I have rambled on enough for this month, so I'm going to go fly! Until we speak again....

    Happy Landings,

    Re: Hub Newsletter- Nov 2007

    Hi Captains;

From your AHM, I would like to add my greetings, and congrats on another successful month!  Although I missed the group flight due unexpected family from out of town, I have been busy with a project I would like to share with you, and invite you to participate in.

As you know, we have two minihubs assigned to the Seattle hub, Alaska, and Hawaii.  Travis has given me the responsibility of managing the schedules for these hubs, and as a result, hopefully you will like what you see.

First off, for those in Cat I through III, (and for you who like lots (and lots) of challanging takeoff and landings, I created two round trip flights from Seattle to Fairbanks with multple stops (like 5!).  One flight flies Mon; Wed; amd Fri, with stops at Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks, and return.

The next flight flies Tues, Thurs, and Sat, with stops at Juneau, Sitka, Yakatat, Cordova, Anchorage, and Fairbanks, and return.

I will need to 'confirm' the times in the schedule by actually flying the routes in an ATR72, which I haven't done yet.

And for you long haul folks who like the heavies, I added twice weekly flights from Seattle to Honolulu with a stop at Anchorage.  I designed the flight for a 767, even though Alaska Airlines will start a simular service using (Ithink) a 737-700.  Unfortunatally, I don't think my little PMDG 737-700 has the range, and I don't want to dump anyone in the middle of the Pacific.

All for now, and keep the shiny side up!
