Just some guidelines as to the addition of aircraft to the fleet. These are not written in stone, and may be changed as the Executive Committee sees fit (thanks to Bob Sturm for these, although I have added/edited in a few places):
1. The Executive Committee has decided to halt the addition of any
more aircraft to the FS9 fleet for the time being. We already have many more than we realistically
need. Our intent is the operation of a somewhat realistic airline; and no
real world airline has the variety of aircraft that we currently have in our FS9
fleet. If we don't control it, we would have everyone and his brother wanting
their own favorite aircraft painted in WestWind colors.
2. Regarding FSX, we have not reached a final decision on exactly which
aircraft will be added to the FSX fleet, however, at this time it is pretty
unanimous that we will not have the same number of aircraft for FSX as we have for
FS9. (See Item #1)
3. Before painting an aircraft for WestWind, your work must be
approved as meeting WestWind quality specifications.
4. The number of individuals allowed to upload aircraft and scenery is
strictly controlled (for obvious reasons). If you wish to submit a paint
sample for verification of your ability to meet WestWind quality standards, you
may do so using a default FS aircraft. You can then post a screenshot in the
forum photo section, notify someone in the Aircraft & Scenery group or the Chief Pilot.
If your photo is approved, you would then be asked to email the textures
for further analysis.
5. Regarding payware aircraft (aircraft from groups such as CLS, Captain Sim, PMDG etc.....). The policy has been, and continues to be, that one of WestWind's painters must own a copy of said payware aircraft. This is to control the quality of the repaint, since being able to check how the paint looks inside the sim is integral in making sure it looks right and that everything lined up properly. As such repaints for many popular payware aircraft may not be available here at WestWind due to the costs involved of acquiring the aircraft.
