    Bulk prep's

We are lucky down under, we have hundreds of free airfields to visit in OZ.

Huge percentage do not have ICAO codes as they are strips that the flying doctors use,

Mining companies to get supplies in and out off.

Farm strips way out in the outback and even local glider strips.

Now as I generally are low flying VFR for Westwind delivering supplies to these various airfields.

How can I enter, eg: Lady Baron Island, Penong, Marandoo Mine etc?

I used to use the bulk prep and visit 5 or 6 at a time in one days flight.

Could my Boss (hub manager) look into this please.

In case some of you don't realise, great scenery here for Westwinds baron to fly into.

    Hi Trevor,

If they have any kinda airport code ICAO or IATA, feel free to put it down, do these airports have any kind of ID Code at all?

    Re: Bulk prep's

All airports in MSFS have an airport code. That is what you should use. I flew all over Australia last February in the Great Australian Air Rally into small airports such as you describe and used the Flight Dispatch system without a problem.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you still have questions.

    Hi Eoin,

ICAO or IATA,  do these airports have any kind of ID Code

Nope, it's a compass and stop watch, oh, and watch your fuel gauge, you can fly over and around them and still miss them !!!!!!!!

Love doing the mail run outback for Westwind's contract, take along a road map............

You can actually see them on Google Earth, they are real airstrips (well red dirt mostly) in a red country side....

The Oz crew have done a great job on these, you may have to buzz the field first and scare the roo's... !!!!

This would be a good exercise for those that think they know cross country flyingWink

    Cheers

Hmmm.... You have me totally confused now! Stick out tongue The only option I can think of is that you give them your on ID code. I can add them to the database if you want? Maybe like Y123 or something....

    Re: Bulk prep's

    G'Day Mike,

All airports in MSFS have an airport code.

My friend you don't know what you missedBig Smile

These freeware airports make MSFS look like they have been pulled out of the rubbish bin........

There is over 300 airports to date and more been worked on.

They are real world working strips that FS wouldn't know about...Yes some have ID's and most of them do not have AFCAD's

So you can't cheat Big Smile

Next time you visit us down under, you will need a month or two to get around them all Crying

    Cheers

I added the following to the WestWind Database

ZZAU - Airport without ID - Australia

Just for the record, any airport code will work. Not all airport codes are in our database and people fly to them anyway.

It does sound like fun but any kind of additional scenery makes my framerates go south quickly. Maybe when I get a new computer!!

I also would not have a problem if you loged it as <airport of origin> to <airport of origin> with a note in the flight log that said you landed at 5 (for instance) unregistered airports doing a mail run or some such thing. I think that is consistent with our intent. It would not be appropriate to log any more than one session at the computer in a block like that.

My parents strip is called 'Monreith'. No code nothing. a pet project is to one day add to Flight simX then to upload it so you can visit it when over this way, Mooney or Cessna

    Re: Bulk prep's

Guys, we can also make up our own codes for these like we did for NTKG in Tahiti. We could probably use WWxx for a WestWind defined airport or whatever makes sense. I have no problem adding them to the database.

[edit] I think Eoin already suggested this. Either way is OK by me.
