    Cat III Payware for FSX

Ok, so I FINALLY made it up to Cat III  (yeah!) - any recommendations on a high quality aircraft for FSX with FMC, having SID/STARS, bonus would be HUD and weather radar but not required. I have been keeping keeping an eye out for the PMDG 737-NG, but who knows when that will come out. As far as airliners go, I'd love to find an advanced 737 sim (late and/or early model), but would go with an Airbus too if systems are modeled well and it's an overall good package. Not into long haulers (yet). and I'm only CAT III, so 757/767 aren't really contenders at this point.I would rather have 1 or 2 high quality aircraft, rather than a package with a bunch of mediocre ones.

If it helps, I've flown the ATR and had no difficulties flying that. (in terms of understanding start up, FMC, Hotel mode etc...)

As a side note, still waiting for Citation X 2.0 for FSX from Eaglesoft - long time coming on that one too. While not in the WWA hanger, I've been thinking of getting the Wilco Legacy - anyone have experience with that?  I know Wilco has a Citation X, but having waited about 2 years, I'm guess I'm still holding out for the Eaglesoft.

Basically looking for my next high fidelity aircraft simulation - all comments welcome!

     Thanks!

I fly the Wilco/Feel There 737 Pilot in Command (PIC) and it pretty much fills your stated requirements.  They offer the 300, 400 and 500 series.  I have been flying it for the past  couple of years and I am a satisfied customer.

Just an opinion. Go with the Eaglesoft Citation or the Eaglesoft Hawker 400 as far as Exec jets. F1 Coolsky Super MD80 is extremely nice and is still used extensively in the RW. Or get Integrated Simaviation FMC gauge suite and install it in the default or freeware aircraft. Then you have a product than can be used in any aircraft. GA to Commercial. For half the price of a good payware! Most, not all, people I believe buy payware aircraft to get the more sophisticated navigation equipment. The default FSX aircraft are quite good. They just lack real world navigation capability. ISG1 has solved that issue. I've purchased payware aircraft, jerked out the navigation equipment and installed ISG1 gauges.I found the ISG gauges to be more useful.

Wilco E170 is quite an involved aircraft (has FMC)

Captain Sim 727 Freighter is the bees knees (no FMC)

Captain Sim L100 is solid too with a lot of other varieties (C-130 on skies and floats)

Thanks for all the good info. The Wilco 737 is looking good - any FSX/Vista issues?. The PMDG has been "Coming Soon" for over a year now - anyone have info beyond what is on their website?

Again, thanks for the timely and helpful info!

Randy - I checked out the ISG1 website and was very impressed.  I agree with you - the default CRJ7, 738 & 744 are nice birds and really just need a decent nav system!

Re: Cat III Payware for FSX

I realy like the Wilco/feelthere Airbus series volume 1 (for the A320 series) and volume 2 (for the A330/340 series for cat IV and V). The systems are pretty accurate. And they come with a fully functioning FMS with SIDs and STARs. And an autopilot with full autoland capability, FMS managed climbs an decends. Attitude and loadfactor limiters, fuel an cargo calcutaros. Fully functioning GPDW and TCAS. Put a shot below from the A330 on ILS rw 13R for SKB

I am currently in the process beta testing for Ernie for the  ISG1 V1.6. I can say a very nice piece of equipment will get even better.

Re: Cat III Payware for FSX

    Randy,

Do you know if the ISG1 package include free updates? That is, if a new release will be forthcoming, does it make sense to wait, or will the upgrade be a free option to registered users? Are you able to speak to the new features in the new release?  Also, if I have FSBuild, can I use that to keep the SID/STAR database current?

    Many thanks!

    Decisions...decisions....
