EHAM - May 2009 Hub report
Congratulations are in order for the follow people because of their promotion:
•John Miller (WWA2374) made Cat II within 3 months of joining WestWind! Congrats John!
•Paul Haubourdin (WWA2230), myself (what can I say, I’m not a modest guy!). I made Senior Captain while flying around the world on my P280 charter.
•Roger Schilling (WWA1004) is racking up some serious hours with his Caribbean trip and made Cat V! Congrats Roger!
Pilot Recognition Awards were awarded for:
•Marco Marini (WWA1839), 2 Years of WestWind Service on the 21st of June
•Roger Schilling (WWA1004), 50 Hours in one month
•George Forster (WWA2379), 25 Hours in one month
•Philippe Bleus (WWA307), 25 Hours in one month
•Paul Haubourdin (WWA2230), 100 Hours in the Boeing 767-300ER (Level-D)
Thanks also goes out to the rest of the hub for realizing some impressive hours:

We have quite a good online presence, with half our hub’s hours being flown on VATSIM! No-one flew any cargo flights this month, instead we flew plenty of charters. Interesting to see how only very little training took place off-line! Scheduled passenger flights on the other hand are not popular for flying online at all.

George took the crown as “line pilot” without a contest this month. Logging superior hours as well as flights for scheduled routes, he has been our most reliable operator in may!

Even though I logged most charter hours (did a lot of long legs across South-America), Roger took the crown logging the most flights. Undoubtedly his Caribbean trip is to thank for that, with many short flights between small strips. Great work Roger!

It was a close call between Philippe and myself for the VATSIM crown. In the end I beat Philippe with a tiny margin, still great work Philippe! Nice to see Art and Marco also venturing out in the VATSIM skies. Sure hope to see those numbers go up next month!
Interesting top 3 in the overal ranking. Roger logged the most hours by far, so definitely congrats for that! I logged the most hours by a small margin. In the end I think Philippe deserves this month’s pilot of the month award, having the second most hours, and the second most flights, beating both Roger and myself on one of the stats. Great Philippe, combined with your VATSIM record you definitely deserve the award this month! You’re name’s going on the EHAM hub page for the rest of the month!

No real favorite routes to be spotted in June. Just the citypair Amsterdam-Maastricht made 2 flights for both legs. Rotterdam apparently is a nice place to get away from ;-)

It’s a close top 3 for the most popular plane in our hangars. The 767 wins on hours, but not so much on flights, showing its long-haul heritage. The DHC 6 on the other hand is the fav short hopper, logging only 19.2 hours over 30 flights. The Gulfstream takes the middle, with roughly as many hours as flights. What else can I say? The info’s FYI

A runway is nothing but a waste of good parking space ... Real pilots only need an H to land on!
