The quality of the Yugos are great which is why the car frame and body will rust out years before the engine stops working. Cool

At WW, there is always room for a conversation about Yugo's.

Drop them off in Madrid. I don't think they have any yet. Is there an award for hauling Yugo's?

    Re: Is this proper?

Well back in EDDF, I had a traditional German car, this: Big Smile

After looking around, Spanish cars are awful, so after spending some time in the US, I found this:

A little better than that Yugo I used to have! Stick out tongue Management has its advantages!

    Re: Is this proper?

    Hi everyone!

New pilot at WestWind, and quite new to flying in general (two months or so), so I'm still learning and enjoying the experience and from the looks of things, the learning will never stop. The online flightsim world is brand new to me, and so is the whole VA concept.

Along the same subject as the OP, and hopefully these questions aren't too silly:

What is "expected" from pilots as far as routes and staying close to home?  The FAQs and dispatch page make it clear that pilots can fly anywhere and everywhere as long as the planes that they are rated for are capable of it.  If that's the case, then what's the purpose of being assigned to a hub?  I'm assigned to the KJFK hub, and last night I made my first flight (round-trip to KBOS).  Should I keep picking routes in/out of KJFK?  Should I complete round-trips or can I just sign-out one leg and then fly somewhere else from my destination?  If it's all a matter of personal preference, then what's the common method?

Also.. is "block time" the time spent in the air or would it include pre/check-list time as well?

    Thanks for any tips!

    Re: Is this proper?

First of all welcome to WWA Roddie!! The flights you fly are totally personal preference, you can fly round trips or single legs out of any airport, airfield or airstrip in the world, that's the beauty of Westwind. You can make it realistic if you want and fly round trips to and from hubs and use Real World flight plans and the whole shebang, or you can fly from your local grass strip to the middle of Africa, whatever you like...

As for being assigned to a hub. The reason you are a assigned to a hub is mainly for administration purposes. Your HM and AHM monitor your progress through the hub system and deal with any problems you might have. It also creates kinda a team aspect to the VA, so each Hub has its own "team" of pilots which represent it.

To answer your third question, Block Time is time off blocks to time on blocks. In other words, the time you leave the stand, to the time you arrive on stand in your arrival airport.

I hope I answered all your questions, if not feel free to ask more questions, that's what we're here for! Enjoy your time in WWA!

    Re: Is this proper?

Many people log the time recorded in their MSFS flight log. If you want to be more realistic, then you can log the official block time. I can never remember exactly how it is defined. I assume Eoin has it right.
