Passenger, KLAX -> KDEN, B738, VATSIM, 3.0 hours

Departed KLAX with VATSIM control coming online as I taxied. Had some issues with radios and getting clearances lined up. Issues with radio volume throughout the flight. Both on departure and arrival. Not sure what that issue is. Recalibrated mic and looked at other stuff. Volume caused problems with being heard over aircraft noise. Was delayed getting out of KLAX as the controller there worked to establish control. Other then that, had a reasonable flight. Still been a while since I've flown the B738. So still dealing with a little rust. Other then the low volume on the radio, that made it hard to hear, not to many other issues. Arriving controller vectored me for approach to RWY35L and the approach was a little of a slam dunk and really had to get on the speed brakes as he vectored me in real close. Was able to get the speed down and landed well. Welcome back to the line.
